More than VND420 bln invested in Quy Nhon seaport

The Ministry of Transport has approved the project of upgrading a marine fairway at Quy Nhon seaport, aiming to receive ships with the capacity of up to 50,000 DWT.

The project, which cost more than VND421 billion VND (18.5 million USD), is expected to complete by 2024.

Quy Nhon is one of the biggest seaports in the Central region, receiving a large volume of cargo from Central Highlands region, Southern provinces of Laos and Cambodia.

In 2010, cargo through the port reached 4.5 million tonnes, more than double its design capacity.  In 2020, total cargo through the port reached a record 11 million tonnes.
