More Champa historical, cultural value unearthed

A meeting held by Binh Dinh Department of Culture and Sports took place on December 10, announcing the preliminary report on the archeological excavation of Chau Thanh tower ruins.

The excavation unearthed four layers or archtectural design in different periods. Among them, the first layer features a design which is similar to those of Indian temples.

Archaeologists also found other items, showing that this is a place where different cultural values met, generating the variety of Champa culture in Binh Dinh.

According to Dr Le Dinh Phung, working at Vietnam Institute of Archeology, what was found proves that the Champa history had existed even before the foundation of Vijaya kingdom.
